Explore the Breathtaking Beaches of Split, Croatia for Dirt Cheap

Back in 2014, I studied abroad in Florence, Italy. It was one of the most memorable experiences of my life, mostly because of all the amazing places I was fortunate enough to travel to. As a twenty year-old sophomore, I didn't think my budget would allow for trips outside of Florence; but I was happily mistaken. One of my favorite excursions was one that I took to Split, Croatia. The untouched beaches were nothing short of spectacular, and the city itself was insanely cheap. Overall, I ended up only spending 265 Euros during my tour of the beaches.
Over in Europe, there are many travel agencies that run student oriented specials to travel to different countries. I booked my trip to Croatia through an agency called Bus2Alps. For 265 Euros, I spent three days in Split with most of my accommodations included. The company provided transportation to and from Florence to Croatia, along with lodging, breakfast everyday, a guided boat tour of the beautiful beaches, a trip to Krka Waterfalls National Park, and bar crawls with half of our drinks included. Sounds too good to be true, right? Considering that the cheapest flight from Florence to Croatia is 189 Euros, the extra 79 euros was well worth everything else being included.
I mean, cmon...can you beat that million dollar view a Krka Waterfalls National Park?
The only extra expenses I paid for were souvenirs and dinner. Besides breakfast provided by the travel agency, the tours we took provided us with snacks, light lunches and drinks. On our tour of the beaches of Split, we traveled with about 90 other study abroad students on a giant yacht for the entire day, equipped with a sun deck and priceless views of a coastline unfamiliar to society. Its hard to impress a girl that grew up in a beach town, but man...no picture in the world could do these beaches justice. I'm still in awe that it was so cheap to travel and tour one of the most beautiful countries this world has to offer.
